Overview

Chromaflow is an interactive real-time fluid simulation created with Production Club for a 26-foot 4K LED wall at AWS Re:Invent. Full-body movement allowed attendees to shape and disrupt a continuously evolving field of digital color.

Context and Role

Working with Production Club, I developed the software and multi-camera interaction system within a larger production. Development followed Production Club’s creative direction through multiple rounds of review. The engagement ran approximately four weeks from creative brief through on-site delivery in Las Vegas. I was on site for the install.

Challenge

On a busy conference floor, the interaction area was intentionally controlled so only a few attendees entered at a time. The system needed to respond immediately, reset naturally between groups, and operate with no per-user setup. The tracking system could support five or more participants, and the physical installation kept each interaction focused and manageable.

System

Streams from multiple RealSense D435 depth cameras were merged into a single tracking volume covering a 26-foot by 10-foot area in front of the LED wall. Body presence and movement translated into forces inside a GPU fluid simulation driving the 26-foot 4K display.
